If you own your home, one of the easiest ways to make your bathroom look bigger and better is to replace your shower curtain with a clear-glass, trackless tub enclosure. I have never seen a bathroom that could not benefit from the upgrade.
Conversely, if you live in a rental, you probably should not make this particular investment. Instead, use a plain white terry cloth or white moiré shower curtain for a clean, classic look (no pun intended). Here are a few reasons to make the switch to a glass enclosure, if you haven’t already done so:
1. The majority of shower curtains and liners become mildewed after a short time.
2. Installing a glass tub enclosure makes most bathrooms look bigger because the glass allows the entire space to be seen from wall-to-wall instead of having the curtain cut the room off by 25% – 30%.
3. Quite a few bathrooms have a window on one of the walls where the bathtub is located. In these cases, if the shower curtain is drawn, it can block the light from entering the room, making it darker. Glass enclosures allow the light to flow in, unimpeded. A sunny bathroom is a cheerful bathroom.
4. Upgrading to a clear-glass tub enclosure increases the value of most homes because it makes a bathroom look more modern.
5. Trackless glass enclosures (the only type to consider) are elegant.
So, here is the bottom line: If you are looking for a way to spruce up your home without spending a lot of money, this is one sure-fire improvement that will give you pleasure now and make your home more attractive to buyers in the future.
Do you have a trackless enclosure or do you plan to have one installed?

Both of our full bathrooms have glass enclosures, but since the doors slide, I guess that means they have tracks and are thus, not trackless. We do like them though, for all of the reasons you mentioned, although hard water in our area makes keeping them clean somewhat challenging. Everyday shower cleaners like Tilex are helpful, at least for the kind of doors we have. Some day when bathroom renovation floats to the top of our to-do list, the trackless doors seem like a great answer!
Golden yellow tub,toilet.2 sinks and tile around tub and half way up wall. brown wood trim. large bathroom. all in very good condition. What color would you paint walls?
Paint the walls white semigloss and then add two thin vertical stripes in golden yellow and brown, close together, spacing the pairs of lines 18″ apart.
