Choosing To Do

I don’t know about you, but I can’t be productive without keeping a daily list.post-it Every night, before bed, I write out my “To Do” list for the next day, which also helps me sleep better. A Post-It note works well for me because it can be slapped on the dashboard of my car or stuck onto my cell phone, where it can’t be missed. Wherever I go, my list goes and, when each task is done, it feels great to check it off.

Not to get too philosophical, but a list could be viewed as a metaphor for life, couldn’t it? It seems as though we continually have things to attend to, and it is up to each of us to choose to do those things, in order to make progress and grow, or choose to do little – or even nothing – and stagnate.

Anyhoo, among other things on my list today: prepare my presentation for the up-coming 2009 Interior Refiners Network Conference in Atlanta, drop off donation of clothing and household items, get a seasonal flu shot, make an appointment for a mammogram and, if I have time, shop for a gown for my daughter’s wedding.

‘Gotta go finish answering email and returning calls now so I can get to the rest of my list. But, before I do anything, it’s time to check off, “write blog.” post-it list

Do you keep a daily list?

I am also a big fan of “daily lists.” At the end of the day , knowing I have the next day’s plan written down helps to quiet my mind, getting it off-task so I can get to sleep!

Hello Kathy,

It looks like, more and more, we have a lot in common!
Cheers!
