I’m trying SO hard to ‘Say No to Clutter’ at Christmas!! I already have to pack away my regular decor because I have SO much Christmas decor. How do you decide what not to put out every year when you only see it once a year? It all has so many memories. I try to rotate but still end up getting too much out of the boxes.
I like the idea of hanging the cards outside the door! I used to hang them on the inside of the door but after too many years of sticky on the door they won’t stay up anymore.
We try a bit of both ideas – a fresh colored lit tree with all the ornaments we have bought and been made by our daughter, been given by friends and family, etc., and then an all white light tree with gold and white ornaments. I began that a few years when I wanted ‘a grown-up tree’. I love it every year even if it is the same color every year. And the kid in me still loves the colors of the ‘kid’ tree.
I’m off to clear the countertops. I never understand how they get so full. Thanks for all the tips and ideas!
It sounds as though you have the right idea. And, perhaps, as Coco Chanel suggested to women getting dressed, remove just one thing to ensure that you haven’t put {out} too much. Happy Holidays.
